How to Remove the Bar on a Dyson DC14

Dyson offers a variety of vacuums in its DC14 line. From the Telescope Reach All Floors to the Animal or Total Clean, the basic setup of the machines is the same. When the time comes that you need to clean the beater bar or change the belt, you will need to know how to access and remove the bar.

Things You'll Need

• Nickel or quarter

Instructions

1. Turn off and unplug the DC14 vacuum cleaner.

2. Turn the vacuum over so you can access the panel underneath.

3. Turn the three slotted knobs one-quarter turn counter-clockwise with a nickel or quarter.

4. Pull the beater bar access panel off of the vacuum.

5. Pull the bar straight out of its receptacle. Slide the belt over the end of the bar as you pull it out.
