How to Replace Two AA Batteries With a Rechargeable Lithium Battery

How to Replace Two AA Batteries With a Rechargeable Lithium Battery thumbnail
Replace your AA alkaline batteries with LiPo batteries and you can use your device much longer.

Your alkaline AA batteries always go dead just when you need them most, such as a great, never to be repeated photo opportunity. The voltage of AA batteries is 1.5 volts when new but the output drops as you use the power. This doesn't happen the same way with lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries. The voltage remains stable and the capacity is several times more than an alkaline AA battery. They also weigh less. Replace your AA batteries with AA size LiPo batteries and you will get to keep taking photos much longer. When the LiPo batteries run out of power, all you do is recharge them for a few hours and you're ready to go again.

Instructions

    • 1

Undo the battery compartment cover of the device containing the two AA batteries. Note the labeling for the positive and negative battery terminals. They always alternate as the two batteries connect in series to produce 3 volts.

    • 2

Remove and discard the AA batteries. You don't need them anymore.

    • 3

Insert your AA size LiPo batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure you insert the positive and negative terminals of each in the correct location otherwise, your device won't operate.

    • 4

Close the battery compartment cover. Turn on your device and it's ready to use for substantially longer with your rechargeable LiPo batteries than your AA batteries.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you purchase AA size LiPo batteries as LiPo batteries are available in many sizes.
