1
Convert a USA size small t-shirt by labelling it as a European size 87. This is a standard rate of conversion and is the same for every t-shirt marked with a "small" or "S" label. The rate is also not constant, which means that you cannot keep adding the same number for each ascending size. For example, a USA size medium t-shirt converts to a European 91 and a USA size large converts to a European 102.

2
Convert a USA size small collared-shirt by multiplying the size by 2 and adding 8. For example, convert a 14.5-inch shirt to a European size by multiplying by 2 (29) and adding 8, which gives you a size value of 37. In the same way, a 15-inch shirt would convert to a European size of 38. This method works for all sizes up until 16 inches, when you must add 9 instead of 8.

Use a converter if you cannot remember the conversions or formulas off by heart. There are plenty of converters available online that work live; simply click on the "U.S. Letter" dropdown menu, choose a size value and the European conversion will be immediately visible in the same row. Use these conversion tools for other garments and sizes as well.
