How Can I Remove Lime Scale Buildup From Cultured Marble?

Cultured marble is man-made and not quarried naturally. The marble can have the same sheen and variance of color as natural marble, and it is also generally stronger than natural marble. Cleaning stains such as lime scale buildup on cultured marble is simpler than cleaning it from natural marble. As with natural marble, never use metal scrapers to remove stains or use any acidic solutions on cultured marble. Both of these could scratch the marble's surface.

Things You'll Need

• Neutral pH cleaner
• Spray bottle
• Paper towels
• Nail polish remover
• Cloth

Instructions

1. Spray a neutral pH cleaner onto the surface of the lime scale buildup on the cultured marble.

2. Let the solution sit for at least five minutes. This will give it time to loosen the stain.

3. Wipe the solution and lime scale buildup away with a paper towel. This should remove most, if not all, of the buildup.

4. Apply a small amount of nail polish remover to a clean cloth if the lime scale is still visible. Use as little nail polish remover as possible.

5. Rub the nail polish remover gently on the marble surface until the lime is removed. Never use nail polish remover to remove stains from natural marble.

6. Rinse the area with clear water and dry it thoroughly with a clean cloth.
