How to do Makeup for a Person With Blue Eyes & Black Hair
Many believe black hair and blue eyes is one of the most beautiful combinations of features, according to Mature Beauty. Eye makeup can accent your features, changing your whole look. Makeup for such a combination can be difficult, because dark hair traditionally calls for darker products, while blue eyes traditionally call for light colors. However, some colors work with both, making your blue eyes pop while still complementing your hair. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Apply cream to your eyelids. Many brands carry white creams that are safe to use around your eyes. Place a dime-sized dab of cream onto the tip of your finger. Gently rub in half the cream on one eyelid and half on the other. This will create a base layer and help the makeup stick to your face.

2
Choose three eyeshadow shades--one light, one medium and one dark--of complementary colors. Violet and purple work well with blue eyes by accenting without overpowering their color. Start with the darkest color, plum purple. Using the eye shadow brush or the tip of your finger, apply it to the crease of your eyelid, the area closest to your top lashes. Spread the eye shadow the whole length of your lid 1/2-inch to 1-inch wide.

Apply the medium-colored eye shadow, violet, in the same manner, and above the dark shade. Slightly overlap the two shades. Blend the colors where they overlap.

4
Apply the lightest colored eye shadow, lilac, over the medium shade and slightly overlapping. You may choose to extend the eye shadow all the way up to your eyebrow. You may also overlap the lightest color on top of both darker colors, and blend.

5
Apply eye liner or eye pencil. Use brown, dark brown or gray. Smoky gray goes well with dark hair, but anything too dark takes away from your blue eyes. Line your eyelids, across the top of your lower lashes and on the top of your upper lashes. If you wish you can smudge the pencil lines to soften your look.

6
Apply mascara. Use smoky gray mascara, or if your hair is very dark, you may want to go a little darker. Start with the mascara brush closest to your eye and brush upward and out.
