How to Send a Podcast to Mobile Phones
Listening to podcasts at home couldn't be simpler. By downloading iTunes, access audio material at any time of the day or night. If you want to listen to podcasts while out and about and don't have a separate MP3 player, easily transfer podcasts from your computer to your phone. Depending on your handset's specifications, there are different methods of doing so, but even people using the most basic handsets can listen to podcasts away from their computer.

Use Nokia Multimedia Transfer. This software connects Nokia phones to Mac operating systems and allows users to download songs and podcasts from their computer to their phone. The software is free but it only works with compatible Nokia phones and requires a Mac computer with iTunes 8 and iPhoto 6 or higher. Download the software from the Nokia website and once you have done so, follow the onscreen instructions to transfer podcasts to your phone.

Transfer the podcasts using a micro secure digital (SD) card. If your phone has a memory card expansion slot, transfer podcasts from your computer to your phone using a micro-SD or similar memory card. Obtain a universal serial bus (USB) card reader to connect the card to your computer. Once you have done that, load as many podcasts onto the card as it will hold and listen to them from your phone. The cards are compatible with both Mac and personal computer operating systems. According to technical writer Nicole Lee, some phones only play MP3 and AAC files so try converting the podcast to these formats if you can't play them on your phone.

Use Podlinez. If you have a basic phone that can't be plugged in to a computer or doesn't have space for a memory card, listen to podcasts over the phone using Podlinez. The service works by giving each podcast its own phone number. Then, listeners find the podcast of their choice, call the number and listen for as long as they want. The service is free to use but your usual network charges might apply. As well as listening to individual podcasts, you can also create your own play list for a monthly fee.
