Resize a calendar pasted into a Word document.

The Microsoft Office Suite's word-processing program, Microsoft Word, may have "word" in its title, but it's not solely about letters on a screen. Word supports importing of a wide range of graphics, which can help illustrate text in the document or serve as an entire document itself. Once you've pasted an image into Word, such as a calendar, you have full control over the image's appearance, including its size.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Word and click the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Select "Open" and browse to the document with the calendar to resize. Double-click the name of the file and the document opens in a new Word window.

    • 2

Scroll to the page or section with the calendar to resize.

    • 3

Click once on the calendar to give it focus; a frame surrounds it with small boxes in each corner.

    • 4

Press and hold down the "Shift" key on the keyboard. Click one of the small corner boxes on the calendar and drag it in towards the calendar's middle to shrink it. Drag the corner out away from the calendar's middle to enlarge it.

    • 5

Save the document with a new name to protect the original, or save it with the same name to overwrite the original.

Tips & Warnings

  • Enlarging an image puts you at risk for a visual distortion called pixilation, which happens when you go up in size. The calendar may start to look fuzzy, or broken up into small pieces. It's always possible to go smaller, so it may be ideal to paste the calendar in larger than you think you may need, and shrink it down once it is in place.
