A Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300DL can handle most office print jobs.

The Magicolor 2300DL is a color printer manufactured by Konica Minolta. In 2003, Konica Corp. merged with Minolta to form Konica Minolta. Its products are known worldwide. As with many printers, glitches can occur. The problems that may occur with your Magicolor 2300DL are fairly simple to diagnose, whether it's an issue with the laser lens or toner cartridge. Before calling a service repairman, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can run through on your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Check to see that the power cord is securely plugged into the electrical outlet if the printer does not turn on. Try plugging another appliance into the same outlet to check for power coming from the outlet. Turn the power switch ON.

    • 2

Remove media from the tray and then reload it if several sheets go through the printer at once. Remove moist media and replace it with new, dry media. Do not fan transparency media because it can create static electricity and cause problems with the printing.

    • 3

Select the capacity listed on the toner cartridge label in the "ENGINE/CHANGE TONER SZ" menu if the control panel displays "Toner Low" sooner than expected. This means that a high-capacity toner cartridge was loaded, but the toner size was set at standard capacity. Remove the toner cartridge and check for damage. Replace the toner cartridge, if needed.

    • 4

Replace the waste toner bottle if the images are blurred and the edges are lightly stained.

    • 5

Check to see if the laser lens cover is dirty if there are abnormal areas of print, such as lines running vertically down the page. Gently wipe the laser lens cover with a soft, clean cloth.

    • 6

Replace the toner cartridge if the image is too light or if there is low image density. Open the printer's front door. Insert your thumb and forefinger into the two holes in the front of the toner cartridge, then pull the cartridge straight out of the printer, taking care not to twist or bend it. Remove the new toner cartridge from the packet and gently shake it left to right to even out the toner. Remove the yellow protective cover. Insert your thumb and forefinger into the two holes on the front of the cartridge and guide it into the printer until secure. Close the printer door.

Tips & Warnings

  • The printer must complete a 150-second calibration cycle after a toner cartridge or any consumable has been replaced.

  • Do not dispose of the toner cartridge by burning.
