Add a little pizzazz when you're tossing the disc around by catching it behind your back.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your eye on the disc from the moment it's thrown.

  2. Step 2

Judge where you think you can catch the disc.

  3. Step 3

Get to that spot, making any needed adjustments.

  4. Step 4

Take a step back with the foot on the same side of your body as your catching hand (left hand, left foot; right hand, right foot).

  5. Step 5

Wrap your catching arm behind your back, bending your elbow 90 degrees.

  6. Step 6

Have your palm facing up with your thumb pointing up.

  7. Step 7

Pinch your thumb to your fingers to catch the disc.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since the disc doesn't tend to fly straight, this catch takes some time to get used to.
  • You can't actually see the disc hit your hand, so the timing takes practice.
  • If you're lunging with your arm to catch the disc, try taking a bigger step backwards.
