How to Catch a Flying Disc Between Your Legs

Instructions

    Catching the Disc With Your Feet on the Ground

  1. Step 1

    Judge where you think the disc will land.

  2. Step 2

    Get to a spot where the disc would bang off your shins if you stood upright and still.

  3. Step 3

    Spread your legs wide.

  4. Step 4

    Bend your knees and crouch. You want to be low enough to the ground that you can touch it with your fingertips.

  5. Step 5

    Drop your catching arm behind your body.

  6. Step 6

    Bend the elbow of your catching arm around your thigh.

  7. Step 7

    Extend your hand between your legs.

  8. Step 8

    Have your palm facing up with your thumb pointing up.

  9. Step 9

    Watch the disc the whole time, until it reaches your hand.

  10. Step 10

    Pinch your thumb to your fingers to catch the disc.

  11. Catching the Disc When You're in the Air

  12. Step 1

    Judge where you think the disc will land.

  13. Step 2

    Get to a spot where the disc would bang off your knees if you stood upright and still (higher if you're a good jumper).

  14. Step 3

    Time your jump so you're at your peak when the flying disc arrives.

  15. Step 4

    Keep your knees bent in the air.

  16. Step 5

    Drop your catching arm behind your body.

  17. Step 6

    Bend the elbow of your catching arm around your thigh.

  18. Step 7

    Extend your hand between your legs.

  19. Step 8

    Have your palm facing up with your thumb pointing up.

  20. Step 9

    Watch the disc all the way to your hand.

  21. Step 10

    Pinch your thumb to your fingers to catch the disc.

  22. Step 11

    Return to earth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Catching the disc between your legs while jumping is not easy. Try it with discs that are floating rather than darting toward you.
