Rate: (4 Ratings)

Designed to end the point or rally, the kill shot delivers the ball low to the front wall, making it impossible to return.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Racquetball Goggles
  • Racquetball Rackets
  • Racquetballs
  • Water Bottles With Squeeze Caps

Step1
Lower your center of gravity by bending your knees, bending at the waist and dropping your rear toward the floor.
Step2
Widen your stance to provide more support.
Step3
Face both shoulders toward a side wall.
Step4
Pull the racquet behind your back as far as is comfortable.
Step5
Keep the head of the racquet pointed at the side wall when you make contact with the ball. This helps keep the face of the racquet flat.
Step6
Aim for a spot on the wall no higher than a foot or two off the floor.
Step7
Hit through the ball when it's close to the floor. The closer to the floor the ball is, the more successful the kill shot.
Step8
Follow through on your swing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your odds of a successful kill shot increase when your opponent is deep in the backcourt and you're at midcourt.
  • Avoid trying a kill shot when the ball bounces to your waist or higher.
  • While this is an instance where you can unleash your power shot, don't be afraid to sacrifice some power for accuracy.
  • Keeping your body low to the ground is critical when hitting a kill shot.
  • If you have any condition that would impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.
