How to Locate GNC Stores
GNC began operations in 1935 with a single store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At that time, the company name was Lackzoom. Entrepreneur.com reports that the original store sold yogurt, honey and grains. When the company expanded, the name changed to General Nutrition Centers. In June 2010, GNC reported that it sells its products at more than 7,100 locations throughout the world. GNC stores feature vitamins, herbs, protein supplements, skin care products and dietary supplements for athletes.

Search by U.S. ZIP Code

Visit the GNC website and navigate to the "Store Locator" section in the lower left portion of the GNC homepage.

Click on the box that says "Enter Your ZIP Code." Type the ZIP code for the area where you want to find a GNC store into the search box and click the "SEARCH" button. The search will automatically return results for ZIP codes near the one you entered.

Examine the results of your search. The stores closest to the ZIP code you entered will be at the top of the list.

Click on "Get Map" for the store you wish to visit. A map marking the location of the store will open in a separate browser window.

Type your address into box "B" below the address of the GNC store in the "Get Map and Directions" section in the upper left portion of the page. The site will automatically produce a route starting at the store. Click the text link "Reverse Directions" to get directions from your starting point to the store.

Visit the GNC website and select the "Store Locator" button in the navigation bar near the top of the page. The "Store Locator" link appears at the top of every page on the website.

Type the U.S. or Canadian postal code into the box to the right of "Search by Postal Code" or click the down arrow to the right of the box that says "Search by State/Province" and select a state by name or click within the outline of the state on the map. To search for a GNC store outside the U.S. and Canada, click on the down arrow on the box that says "Search Internationally" and select a country.

Select a store from the list of results.

Click on "Get Map" for the location you wish to visit. A map marking the location of the store will open in a separate browser window. Maps are not available for all locations.

Type your address in box "B" below the address of the GNC store in the "Get Map and Directions" section in the upper left portion of the page. If the website is able to identify your location and the store location, the site will automatically produce a route starting at the store. Tips & Warnings
If Canadian provinces do not appear in the drop-down list marked "Search by State/Province," you can access a list of stores in Canada by selecting "Canada" from the drop-down list of international locations.
Some GNC stores are listed in the white pages of the phone book under the name "General Nutrition Center."
Many GNC stores are small storefronts in large shopping centers. You may want to note the phone number in the GNC search results and call the store to confirm its exact location within the shopping center.
