How to Mount a Carlisle Tire
Carlisle Tires Company has been in existence since 1917 when Charles Moomy began the business in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He started selling inner tubes to the large catalogue firm of Montgomery Ward and Company having less than 35 employees. Today Carlisle Tires produces tires for everything from ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) to aerospace vehicles. Mounting a Carlisle tire on an ATV is a bit different than mounting a tire on a car.

1
Set the tire down on the floor and place the rim centered on top of it. The side of the rim with the valve stem should be facing up.
-
2
Push one side of the lower end of the rim should be pushed into the opening of the tire and keep pushing until the tire start to cave in.
-
-
3
Insert the shaft of a screwdriver in between the rim and the tire. Use the screwdriver to lever the remaining tire over the rim until the lower end is fully inside the tire.
-
4
Turn the tire and the rim over so you can see the rim inside the tire. Push as much of the now upper end of the rim out through the top of the tire.
-
5
Clamp a pair of vise grip pliers around the edge of the rim sticking out of the top of the tire. This will prevent the tire form slipping back up over the rim.
-
6
Insert the screwdriver between the tire and the rim, this time forcing the tire down to allow the rest of the rim edge to come out. Work slowly around the rim until the entire top of the rim is coming out of the tire.
-
7
Wrap a ratchet strap lengthwise around the tire and center it along the tire. Tighten the strap until it is just holding onto the tire.
-
8
Attach the hose of an air compressor to the valve stem and inflate the tire. Loosen the strap as it gets inflated and remove it immediately when the tire is full.
-
9
Tighten the valve stem with a valve stem tool and put the wheel onto your vehicle. Secure the wheel in place with the lug nuts and a lug nut tool.

Tips & Warnings
Keep your mounting tools in your toolbox so you can easily access them whenever you need to mount a tire.
Do not over-inflate a tire with an air compressor unless it is fitted with a working pressure gauge or you could cause the tire to explode.
