How to Snap the Duplexer into Place on an HP 6500 Printer

A Hewlett-Packard 6500 all-in-one printer allows you to reduce office clutter by reducing the amount of equipment needed to print, copy and fax paperwork. Adding a duplexer to an HP 6500 printer increases the printer's versatility. A duplexer unit allows the printer to print on the front and back of a piece of paper at the same time. Installing the duplexer correctly ensures trouble-free two-sided printing.

Instructions

1. Turn off the printer power. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

2. Turn the HP 6500 to face the back of the printer toward you.

3. Hold the duplexer with the rollers facing toward the back of the printer. Grasp the sides of the duplexer unit with your hands.

4. Push the duplexer straight into the back opening on the HP printer until it snaps into place.

5. Turn the printer around. Plug the power cord into the printer

6. Print a document to ensure the duplex functions correctly. Make sure the duplexer is seated properly if the printer does not print two-sided.
