How to Remove Duct Tape Glue From a Vinyl Surface
The very thing that makes duct tape adhere so well to surfaces also makes it hard to clean off surfaces when the tape is removed. The glue on duct tape has a strong bonding agent, which makes it especially hard to remove from vinyl surfaces. Use a hair dryer to heat the surface of the vinyl and the duct tape glue for a few minutes. The heat from the hair dryer will soften the bond between the glue and the vinyl.

While it is warm, scrape the surface of the vinyl with a razor blade. Hold the blade at a low angle against the vinyl surface, and scrape off the glue. Wipe the razor blade on a rag after every stroke to remove the glue.

Use a water-displacing spray such as WD-40 on the vinyl surface, and wipe off the remaining glue with a rag. You may need to scrub the water-displacing spray into the area to remove stubborn glue. Wash the water-displacing spray off the vinyl surface with dish soap and a sponge.
