How to Use Nitrous in "Gran Turismo 4"

"Gran Turismo 4" is a racing video game designed by Polyphony and released for the PlayStation 2 gaming console. It is the fourth installment in the Gran Turismo series and features more than 600 vehicles that can race more than 50 tracks. "Gran Turismo 4" allows you to earn money by winning races, and then you can purchase upgrades for your vehicle through the car customization menu. Nitrous injection is an upgrade that will give your engine more power and allow you to travel at higher speeds for brief periods of time.

Instructions

1. Wait for a moment in the race when you need a sudden burst of speed. Nitrous will only work in short bursts of a few seconds at a time.

2. Press the R1 button on your PS2 controller. You will get a nitrous injection and your car's speed will increase. The gauge showing how much you have left in your tank is located on the right side of the dashboard.

3. Drive into a pit stop to refill your nitrous tank. If you go an extended period of time without using it, the system will also gradually refill on its own.
