It is not hard to remove an onion smell from your wood cutting board.

From cutting up fruits and vegetables to meats, your wood cutting board sees a lot of action. Each piece of food leaves its odor on the cutting board's surface. Onions especially leave an odor that easily transfers to other food items. If left on the board, the onion smell will only become stronger. Soap and water alone will not remove the onion smell. You need a substance that will penetrate the cutting board and neutralize the odor as well as remove it.
