How to Add a Business to Yahoo Local
It is critical to advertise your business in order to attract customers and maintain profitability. You can advertise your business on various websites, including Yahoo! Local. This means that your listing will reach everyone who uses that service, making your business more visible to potential customers.

Visit the Yahoo! Local website.

Choose either a basic listing or an enhanced listing.
A basic listing -- which contains the business' name, address, phone number, website link, store hours and a description of products and services that the business offers -- is free.
An advanced listing includes all of the items included in a basic listing, along with your business' logo and tagline, a detailed business description and up to ten digital photos. An advanced listing costs costs $9.95 per month, as of October 2010.

Click the yellow "Sign Up" button in the top-right corner of the screen.

Sign into Yahoo! with your Yahoo! username and password.

Enter your business' information on the Listing Details screen and click "Continue."

Choose your business' category, subcategory and additional information selections on the Category Selection screen, then click "Continue."

Click on the blue link at the bottom that says, "Want to add photos to your listing? See how adding photos can make your listing more attractive" if you've decided you'd like an enhanced listing. Click "Upgrade to an Advanced Listing," where you'll be able to be upload photos and submit a detailed business description. You'll then be prompted to enter your payment information.
If you've decided to stick with the basic listing, simply click the "submit" button at the bottom of the screen.

Input the verification word and read through Yahoo! Local's terms of service, then click "I Agree."
Your submission will be reviewed in three to five business days. It will then go live on the site. If the listing reviewer has any questions or concerns, he or she will contact you before the listing goes live on the Yahoo! Local site.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure that the pictures you include are clear and not fuzzy. Make sure the lighting is good so that potential customers will be inclined to visit your business.
