How to Get a California License to Carry a Concealed Weapon
California is one of the more difficult states in which to obtain a concealed weapon permit. Its numerous restrictions and strict regulations limit who may hold a concealed weapon license. The final decision regarding whether or not the permit will be issued falls on the shoulders of either the municipal police department or the county sheriff's office. Each office is different, and while some applicants may easily obtain a license in a rural area, others in more urban areas can be denied. Everyone, however, must follow the proper procedures as laid down by the local licensing authority.

The length of the course can vary, but courses require a maximum of 24 hours class and training time.
