The Tumi is a brand of specialty bags, for instance laptop bags, which recently has become popular. Since the Tumi tech bags carry an individual serial number, the manufacturer offers the option for customers to register their bags with the company. Finders of lost bags can call a special toll-free number, report the bag by its serial number, and the manufacturer can then identify and notify the owner.

Look up the serial number of the bag. This is a 20-digit individual product number printed on a special metal plate that is permanently affixed to Tumi products.

Go the Tumi website (tumi.com). Search within the site using the keywords "Tumi Tracer" or "register." That should bring you to the page where you can register your bag.

Fill in the serial number and customer information.

Wait for the email confirmation.

Tip

  • Make sure to lock the bag appropriately, using both the built-in locks of the bag and additional locks.

Tip

  • Registering your bag is no guarantee that valuables in the bag will not be stolen. It does not replace or supplement insurance.
