View a Flash presentation from your desktop.

Adobe Flash is software used for creating computer-based and Internet-based animations. When you create a Flash project, you will have two output files. One file is in the SWF format, and the other is your FLA. The source file, or the file that contains your project is the FLA. You access this file if you need to modify the animation you created in Flash. The file that you run to display the animation you created is the SWF file. You can embed the SWF into a Web page or run it directly from your desktop.

Instructions

    • 1

Ensure you have Flash Player installed by visiting Adobe's Version Information page (see Resources). A Flash player can be downloaded free at Adobe's site--it can run your SWF file.

    • 2

Save the SWF file to your desktop or another drive location. The SWF file will have an ".swf" extension.

    • 3

Navigate to the SWF file and double-click on it. The animation should run in an Adobe Flash Player window.
