Fixing shelves to concrete walls is not as difficult as it sounds. You will often find shelves attached directly to concrete block walls. Garages and basements are the most common examples.   • Hammer drill
  • Wall anchor bolts and sleeves
  • Shelf brackets
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil
  • Hammer
  • Screwdriver

      Work out where you are going to put your shelves. Repositioning shelves after they've been fitted takes up a lot of time and effort, so make sure you're happy with where they are going.

      Hold a shelf bracket against the wall in the position you would like it and mark the location of the screw holes on the concrete using a pencil.

      Use the hammer drill to drill holes where you've just marked on the wall. Make sure you choose the right diameter hole for the anchor sleeve that you will be using.

      Tap the anchor sleeves into the holes with a hammer.

      Hold up the shelf brackets against the holes and screw the anchor bolts into position with a screwdriver. Hang your shelves on your newly-installed brackets.
