How to Determine Shrink Wrap Size Needed
If you are in the business of selling items, you may wish to shrink-wrap the items for a professional presentation. To shrink wrap items, you must first determine shrink-wrap size needed to wrap your item properly and neatly. By using the dimensions of the item, you can figure out the shrink-wrap quantity you needed to wrap the item.
Instructions
-
-
1
Measure the circumference of the item you wish to shrink wrap around the widest point.
-
2
Add 10 percent to this circumference measurement. For example, if the circumference is 12 inches, add an additional 1.2 inches to equal 13.2 inches.
-
-
3
Divide this number by two. For example, divide 13.2 by 2 to equal 6.6.
-
4
Measure the height of the item from top to bottom. Add 10 percent to this measurement and divide by 2 as you did with the circumference measurement.
-
5
Cut the shrink wrap according to the measurements you figured in Steps 3 and 4.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not want the shrink-wrap to envelope the item completely from top to bottom, determine the height portion of your item you wish to cover with shrink-wrap and use this height measurement in your figuring in Step 4.
