How to Post a Resume on Twitter
Twitter is more than a place for socialization; it can also be a powerful tool for professionals, even when searching for a job. If you have a lot of followers on Twitter, it may be tempting to simply upload your resume online, tweet the link and hope for the best. Even if you have thousands of followers, however, chances are good very few of them will actually click the link. To maximize your chances of success, it's best to use both a Twitter application for resumes as well as the best hashtags when tweeting your resume.

1
Search Twitter for the best hashtags to add to your tweet. A hashtag is a "#" sign that precedes a word or phrase. All tweets that contain that hashtag are viewable on one list on Twitter. For example, if you add the hashtag #teachingjobs to your tweet, it will help your tweet reach a much more narrow group of readers. Type any hashtags you might think of that relate to the type of job you want in the search field on the right side of your Twitter homepage to see if it is a frequently used hashtag.

2
Visit TwitJobSearch (see Resources), and type in the type of job you are looking for into the field. A list of the latest tweets posted by employers looking to fill that position will appear. Write down any Twitter usernames, which begin with an "@" sign, to tweet your resume to them directly if you believe you are a good candidate for the job.

3
Prepare and save your resume as a DOC, PDF, TXT or RTF file. Proofread carefully for any mistakes before you save it.

4
Go to the Twitres homepage (see Resources), and sign in with your Twitter name and password. Click "Browse," and select your resume, then click "Select."
-
5
Type your tweet in the "Message" field. Use a hashtag for "resume" (#resume), and include any of the hashtags you found in Step 1. Click to accept the terms and conditions, then click "Upload and Post." If you want to tweet someone from Step 2 directly, omit the hashtags and enter their username. Tweet your resume directly to only one user at a time, as to do otherwise might seem like spam and appear unprofessional.
