How to Decorate a Weird Bedroom
While bedrooms by their very definition are a place for sleeping, not all rooms of this type need to share the same generic decorating scheme. If your bedroom contains interesting architectural features that already set it apart from the rest, or if you simply want to craft a less-common room that better represents you and your aesthetic, consider some ways in which you can decorate a weird bedroom. By putting planning into your weird and less-than-common room decorating plan, you can make your room an aesthetically pleasing and attention-getting space. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Survey the space. Consider what furniture arrangement your space may lend itself to. For example, if your odd space is long but shallow or contains a large number of windows, you may need to allow these unchangeable room features to dictate your furniture placement.
-
2
Accentuate desirable uncommon features to create a unique space. Some features that set your room apart from others may be desirable, such as a weird window setup or an interesting architectural ceiling design. Use bold paint hues to draw attention to these features and make the viewers' eyes move to them immediately upon entering the room.

3
Downplay features that you wish others to overlook with neutral tones. Features that are less desirable but can't be changed, can be downplayed. For example, if your room was poorly constructed and contains an uneven ceiling or you have exposed utilities within your room space, paint these features in neutral tones to make them less attention-attracting and blend into the background.
-
4
Choose contrasting hues to feature in the space. Select a set of tones that contrast well, such as brown and blue or black and white, upon which to center your room decor.
-
5
Purchase linens for your bedroom space. Buy plain linens that will serve the purpose but not attract attention or, instead, select linens with bold prints that serve as a decor focus in your space.
-
6
Collect uncommon accent pieces. Look beyond accent pieces intended for bedroom use to make your space more original. For example, consider placing glass accents initially intended for use on a table or industrial accents such as metal pipe sculptures in your bedroom space.
-
7
Arrange your furniture and accent pieces to finish your decorating plan. Place your furnishings and accents about the space following the plan suggested by your room shape.
