How to Transfer a CD to a Zune

The Zune is a portable media player that supports audio and video playback. Included with the Zune and available for free download is the official Zune software. The Zune software allows you to manage the content on the Zune and rip audio tracks from CDs. By default, the Zune software automatically places ripped content into the Zune software collection, which is then transferred to the Zune the next time it is connected (or immediately if it's already connected).

Instructions

1. Start the Zune software. If you don't have the Zune software, download it from the "Resources" section below. Save the exe file to your desktop. Double click the exe file to install the program. When prompted, launch the Zune software.

2. Connect the Zune to your computer using the USB sync cable.

3. Insert the CD you want to transfer to the Zune. Click the CD icon that appears in the Zune software. Place a check next to each song you want to transfer. Click the "Start Rip" button. Each file will automatically be placed in the Zune software collection and subsequently, on the Zune.
