Place heavy items in the storage pod, distributing the weight as evenly as possible between the left and right sides.

Place lightweight items on the top of the heavier items or along the ceiling of the pod.

Fill any hollow spaces in appliances such a refrigerators or washers with items.

Tie down items to prevent them from shifting when the storage pod is in transit.

Place pictures and mirrors in the spaces between the pod's beams.

Having an inventory of your storage pod's contents is useful in case of theft. It allows for easier insurance claim filing.
Use moving pads to move furniture and prevent it from scratching.
