How to Pack a Storage Pod

Storage pods are a convenient way to pack items for relocation or to free up space by storing items elsewhere. The pods can be delivered to your home, meaning you do not have to carry items any farther than your driveway to load it. Properly packing the storage pod is important to ensure your belongings do not get damaged. When you have finished packing your storage pod, items can be safely delivered to their new location.

Instructions

1. Place heavy items in the storage pod, distributing the weight as evenly as possible between the left and right sides.

2. Place lightweight items on the top of the heavier items or along the ceiling of the pod.

3. Fill any hollow spaces in appliances such a refrigerators or washers with items.

4. Tie down items to prevent them from shifting when the storage pod is in transit.

5. Place pictures and mirrors in the spaces between the pod's beams.

Tips & Warnings

• Having an inventory of your storage pod's contents is useful in case of theft. It allows for easier insurance claim filing.

• Use moving pads to move furniture and prevent it from scratching.

• Do not store animals, motor vehicles, engines, trailers and hazardous materials in a storage pod.
