1
Clear and clean the porch before you begin. Perform any maintenance tasks like painting or make any repairs necessary. Start with a blank canvas.
-
2
Inspect your porch furniture and make any necessary repairs or replacements. Clean the furniture with a scrub brush or pressure cleaner. Steam-clean fabrics and run smaller cushions and covers through a wash cycle. Paint furniture, if necessary, to brighten it up.

3
Add spring pastel and floral print fabrics to soften and brighten the porch. Hang long, sheer curtain panels with a tension bar or swags of fabric garland. Add table cloths, cushions and throw pillows to create a warm, comfortable environment.
-
4
Plant some fragrant herbs and annual budding flowers in decorative pots and scatter some lovely arrangements around the room. A strawberry pot planter makes a nice centerpiece, or hang a basket with trailing plants cascading over the edges to draw the eye up.
-
5
Create ambient lighting with candles spaced sporadically around the porch. Hang a candle sconce on a solid wall, hang candle lanterns from plant hooks or set up a cluster of candles on a side table. Get scented candles that emit the aroma of jasmine, wisteria or strawberry when burned.

6
Brighten up the front door with a spring wreath. Use a wreath that feature small blooms, green leaves and pastel ribbons. Embellishments, such as small figures of birds, butterflies, or speckled eggs, give it the finishing touch.
-
7
Decorate the area around your porch as well, to create nice views when you're sitting on it. Dress up the landscape with more plants, and use climbing vines or shrubs to conceal unsightly views. Draw wildlife to the area with a bird feeder, birdbath and butterfly-drawing blossoms, or add interest with a fountain or sculpture.
