How to Dispose of Used Peanut Oil
Peanut oil can be used in many recipes, but once it has been used, it must be disposed of properly. You should not poor the used oil down a drain or toilet, because the oil may cause problems in your water pipes. Peanut oil can be thrown in the trash, but it is not biodegradable and will remain in the landfill for a long time. Dispose of the peanut oil properly to help your waste management plant manage the land fill. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place the used oil in a container such as an old coffee can with a lid, a sealable plastic container or, if you have a large amount of grease, a 55-gallon drum.
-
2
Seal the container and make sure that it does not leak peanut oil. If you have only a small amount of grease, the sealed container may be thrown away in the trash, or you may store the used grease in your kitchen until you have an amount sizable enough to recycle.

If you have more than several quarts of used oil, contact your local waste management plant to find out if the plant recycles used oil and, if so, where you can drop off the oil. Ask if the plant offers a home pick-up option for used peanut oil.

If you have an especially large amount of cooking oil to be disposed of, arrange for a private company, such as a biodiesel manufacturer or grease-recycling company, to pick up the used peanut oil.
