How to Use a MacBook in Europe
As a MacBook owner, your laptop is likely an essential tool you use everyday. It makes sense that you'd want to take your MacBook with you on your travels abroad. If you're traveling anywhere in Europe, getting your MacBook ready to work outside of North America is an essential pre-flight task. Fortunately, MacBooks come mostly prepared for a trip across the pond, right out of the box.

1
Use the AC power adaptor that came with your MacBook. It can handle voltages from 100V to 240V, meaning you do not need a different adaptor to use abroad.
-
2
Buy a plug adaptor appropriate for the country you're going to. Apple (and a variety of other companies) sells a worldwide adaptor kit that will enable you to plug in your AC power adaptor into any outlet.

3
Unplug your AC power adaptor if it begins to get very hot after prolonged use. Work off your MacBook's battery until it cools off.
