Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pop Up for Hook Up

    • 1

Inspect the locking device on the coupler for freedom of movement. Inspect the chains and the bolts attaching them to the trailer for any obvious flaws or damage. Inspect the safety pin for damage. Inspect the wiring and plug for broken or chafed wires.

    • 2

Inspect the receiver hitch and ball for secure attachment to the tow vehicle. Grab the hitch ball and turn it to see if the ball has loosened. Tighten the ball if necessary. Check the size of the ball and be sure it matches the size coupler on the pop up.

    • 3

Raise the coupler until it is just a little higher than the ball on the tow vehicle and lift the locking mechanism to the up position. Back up to the pop up, utilizing someone to guide you until the ball is just underneath the coupler. Lower the coupler onto the ball, being sure that the locking device remains free. Feel the locking clamp inside the coupler after all the weight is on the ball, and be sure it is located at the bottom of the ball. Push down the locking device, making sure the locking clamp moves into position around the ball. Insert the safety pin to keep the locking device from coming loose while towing. Hook up the safety chains.

Hook up the plug for the lights and be sure the prongs are fully engaged. Check for proper operation of the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals before towing your pop up. Check the license plate light as well as this can be a reason for getting a ticket.

Tips & Warnings
