Overclock the ECS motherboard to gain increased PC speeds.

Motherboards like the ECS motherboard are pieces of circuit board that give power to and connect various computer components. The speed of these connections affects the speed level of the components and the computer. Overclocking the ECS motherboard speeds up several components powered by the board, such as the CPU. Changing computer BIOS settings overclocks the ECS motherboard. Specifically, the ECS motherboard's front bus speed and multiplier value are changed to bring about overclocking.

Instructions

    • 1

Boot the PC holding the ECS motherboard. Hold the "F11" key to enter the boot menu. Locate the "BIOS Features" option and press "Enter."

    • 2

Press the "Enter" key while selecting the "External Bus" option. Move the selection cursor to the "Front Bus" field. Increase the value in the field to the value above the default in the list. This sets the ECS motherboard's front bus speed to a higher setting.

    • 3

Press the "Enter" key while selecting the "CPU Core" option. Move the selection cursor to the "Multiplier" field. Increase the value in the field to the value above the default in the list. This raises the ECS motherboard's multiplier frequency.

    • 4

Leave the current menu and return to the boot menu. Select "Save and Exit" from the options. The ECS motherboard is now overclocked.

Tips & Warnings

  • To revert changes to the ECS motherboard, press "Restore to Factory Defaults" in the boot menu.

  • All warranties are voided when overclocking is performed on a system.
