Active parents of twins need a double jogging stroller

If you enjoy running and are expecting twins, you will need a double jogging stroller. Jogging strollers differ from other stroller varieties in that they have rugged tires built to sustain more speed and rugged terrain. They also include a sling-like seat designed to cradle a baby, as well as a footrest for older babies. Most jogging strollers also feature a hand brake so you can slow down the stroller as you slow your own pace. Many retailers offer double jogging strollers but you can easily make one yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase two identical jogging strollers. You need them to be similar sizes so the connector can line up properly. Since you can find many different types of strollers on the market, do your research and purchase strollers that will fit your needs.

    • 2

Purchase three stroller connectors: the heavy duty plastic connectors that hold the strollers together. They clip on and off easily and work with any stroller.

    • 3

Stand the strollers next to each other facing the same direction. Attach one connector just under the handlebars on one of the strollers and connect it to the next stroller. Attach the next connector just above the wheels on the two strollers. Attach the third connector somewhere between the other two. Since strollers vary greatly in their manufacturing, where the last connector will fit depends on your particular stroller's construction.

Attach optional accessories to your newly created double jogging stroller. You may want to add toy/pacifier tethers so that no one loses valuable items in transit. Add a cup holder for the jogger to store water. If the parent or caregiver is very tall, consider adding handle bar extenders to enable the person to jog comfortably

Secure the babies in the jogging stroller using the provided safety harnesses and enjoy a jog.

Tips & Warnings

  • Undo the stroller connectors when collapsing and storing the strollers. It is easier to move individual jogging strollers than a double one.

  • Adding accessories to the stroller makes it top heavy and prone to tipping. Never leave children unattended in a stroller.
