Symantec Endpoint Protection will quarantine detected threats (such as viruses) if not outright delete them. In the quarantine, the malicious program cannot interact with the rest of your system, ensuring its safety. You don't need to keep items in the quarantine, however, you can opt to delete them. Should removing an item not be possible, the system will inform you it cannot be deleted. The process varies slightly from older versions of Symantec software.

      Open the "Monitors" tab and select "Logs."

      Select "Risk" under "Log type" and then click "View Log."

      Click "Delete from Quarantine" under "Action."
