A calendar with 15-minute increments is handy for busy people.

A calendar with 15-minute increments is helpful when scheduling short interviews at work or when breaking down personal tasks into 15-minute intervals. They can also be used to schedule chores, homework and free time for children. Creating a calendar in 15-minute increments can be as simple as click and drag in certain computer programs. While many online companies offer free calendar templates, it is difficult to find one with 15-minute increments.

Instructions

  1. Creating a 15-minute Incremental Calendar

    • 1

Open Microsoft Office Excel on your computer. Click on "New," and select a blank worksheet. The page will come up blank, with a grid-like appearance.

    • 2

Click on the first cell, "A1," and type the title of your 15-minute increment calendar. Click on "A1," and highlight several cells horizontally (enough to display the full title). Use the "Merge & Center" tool to merge and center the title across the top of the calendar page.

    • 3

Left click on cell "A4." Highlight "A4," and drag the cursor down vertically. Highlight as many cells as you want on your page. If you want eight hours of 15-minute increments, highlight cells "A4" through "A38."

    • 4

Right click on the highlighted cells and select "Time." Choose 1:30 AM and click "OK." Left click on cell "A3" and enter the first hour for your calendar. For example, enter 8:00 AM.

    • 5

Highlight "A4-A38," then type the following formula: "=A3+Time(0,15,0)." To create the 15-minute increments, use a simple formula to populate your cells. The cells should populate with 15-minute intervals correspond with the hour you entered in cell A3.

    • 6

Print your 15-minute increment calendar. You will be able to print only 8 1/2 hours on your page because four rows are used for each hour.

Tips & Warnings

  • It will take 160 rows to have a full day's worth of 15-minute increments on an Excel calendar. To save space and paper, use the 15-minute increments only for a certain time of the day.
