1
Pin your wig to a wig form. If you don't have a wig form, attach the hair to a stand or to something that allows it to hang straight.
-
2
Place the stand with the wig on it in a bathtub or large sink.
-
-
3
Heat a large pot of water on the stove until it reaches between 180 and 185 degrees F. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature. Don't let the water boil. If it gets too hot, let it cool to the correct temperature.
-
4
Slowly pour the water over the wig until it is soaked all the way through. If some parts are not hanging straight, use a wide-toothed comb to comb them as you wet the wig.
-
5
Let the wig dry completely. This can take anywhere from one hour to four hours.
-
6
Brush the wig. First finger comb, then use a wide-toothed comb, and finally use a brush. If the wig is not straight, repeat the process.
