The solution seals the envelope without soaking it.

Pitney Bowes EZ Seal is a solution used in lieu of plain water to seal envelopes. It is used in high-volume environments. The solution seals the envelope without the soaking that can happen with plain water and a sponge. EZ Seal is loaded into a sealing reservoir on a postage machine. Troubleshooting Pitney Bowes EZ Seal can be accomplished by following some steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that the EZ Seal bottle isn't empty before you try to fill the postage meter. Order more EZ Seal well in advance of big mail jobs. The solution is available in half-gallon containers. Four half-gallon containers are product item number 608-0. EZ Seal is also available in cartridges for tapes and envelopes.

Look at the sealant water level window if the EZ Seal isn't performing properly and envelope flaps aren't being wetted, or sealed. Make sure liquid is there. Some Pitney Bowes machines have an arrow pointing at a wavy line. On the E600 make sure that the blue flip lever on top of the feeder is set for sealing. It should point toward the wavy line representing "Seal." Two wavy lines with two slashes indicate no seal, and the sealant will not be applied.

    • 3

Refill the reservoir with EZ Seal solution if the envelopes aren't being sealed and the machine is set to seal. Usually the reservoir can be pulled out of the machine. On an E500 it's underneath the feeder, and you pull it out to the left. Replace the reservoir when it's full.
