How to Test if my CPU is Working Correctly After Overclocking

Overclocking a CPU involves manually adjusting its settings so that it works harder and operates faster than it did when it left the factory. Because you have to manually adjust its settings, you should know exactly how fast your CPU is working. If you want to test to see if the CPU is operating correctly after overclocking, all you have to do is look at how fast Windows registers that it can operate.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows logo "Start" button on your desktop. Right-click the "Computer" icon.

2. Click "Properties."

3. Look at the "Processor" listing in the window on your screen. If your CPU is working correctly after overclocking, the CPU speed listed in this window will reflect your processor's overclocked speed. If the overclocking was performed incorrectly, your CPU speed will still reflect its factory default speed.
