How to Plan a Parents' 25th Anniversary
Before you plan your parents' 25th anniversary (also known as the silver anniversary), consult your parents for their ideas. With their agreement, plan a celebration with friends and family after they renew their vows. Or prepare a small, intimate celebration with the family before they take off on a second honeymoon. Choose a theme or reuse the one used for their wedding and the wedding colors as you take steps to make the day memorable for your parents.

1
Meet with your parents to discuss the way they want to celebrate their anniversary. Agree on the date, guest list, type of venue and theme for the celebration. Track down the bridesmaids and groomsmen from the wedding for an added treat.
-
2
Buy or make the invitations. Fill in the details of the celebration. Insert the invitation into the envelope with a RSVP card. Write the guests' name on the envelope, add a stamp and mail.

3
Visit several possible sites for the celebration. Compare the size of the venue to the number of the guests. Determine the space needed for the tables, DJ and dance floor. Reserve the venue that best fits your needs.
-
4
Look through your parents' wedding album to see the colors used at their wedding. Buy decorations in the same colors or use silver-colored decorations, which are traditional for the 25th anniversary. Select photographs to blow up and insert into silver-toned frames for the guest tables.
-
5
Go to several bakeries and look at specialty cakes. Order the cake. Request a 25th anniversary cake topper or give the bakery the original topper from the wedding to put on the cake.
-
6
Ask several DJ's to submit tapes. Listen to the tapes. Pick the DJ your like and reserve him for the date. Request he play "their song" and the song of their first dance. Designate a playlist; include songs from their era.
