How to Insert a Picture Onto a Site From an Internet Gallery thumbnail
You can share pictures of your street art online.

Inserting pictures onto your website can make the site more attractive to visitors. You can insert pictures onto your business website, your blog or just use them to liven up your forum posts. Online photo galleries allow users to upload pictures for viewing by friends and family, but they also exist as a repository for pictures used on other websites. When the picture displays on the outside website, it loads from the Internet gallery, saving the outside website bandwidth and storage capacity.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your web browser and go to the online photo gallery that has the picture you want to use.

    • 2

Click on the picture to go to its static web page. Every gallery and browser handles this a little differently. You may have to right-click and select "View image" in some browsers and in some galleries you may have to click on the picture a couple of times. When the only thing on the current web page is the picture, you are in the correct place.

    • 3

Right-click in your browser's address bar and select "Copy" to save the URL of the picture on the gallery.

    • 4

Go to the website where you want to place the picture. On your own blog or other website go into the HTML coding section of the page. On a forum, go to the form to make a new post.

    • 5

Type "<IMG SRC="">". Click between the two quotation marks, then press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the picture's URL. The final code should look like "<IMG SRC="http://www.galleryname.com/images/sample.jpg">." If working on your own site, save the changes to the code. On a forum, post your message.

Tips & Warnings

  • Not every website will allow you to post pictures. You can only upload pictures to a website, such as a forum, if the administrator has enabled that function.

  • Make sure the site you are pulling pictures from has given permission to use the pictures on your own site. Respect copyrights.
