Disabling the Landesk Inventory Scan application on startup can resolve the issue and decrease startup time.

      Click the "Start" or "Globe" button, and then select the "Run" or "Search" box. Type "msconfig" into the "Run" or "Search" box. Press the "Enter" key if running Windows XP. If running Windows 7 or Vista, right-click on the "msconfig" icon that appears and then click "Run as Administrator," and the "System Configuration Utility" application window will appear.

      Select the "Startup" tab, in the "System Configuration Utility" window.

      Scroll down the list and locate the "LDISCN32.EXE" application. Click the check box next to the "LDISCN32.EXE" application to disable the "Landesk Inventory Scan" application, and then click the "Apply" button.

      Reboot the computer and the "Landesk Inventory Scan" no longer starts, decreasing Windows boot time.
