How to Find Contacts After Logging Into Skype

How to Find Contacts After Logging Into Skype thumbnail
You can add all of your contacts to Skype.

Skype had 560 million users at the end of 2009, making it more popular than even Facebook. This program allows you to voice call, video call and message your Skype contacts. When you log in to Skype for the first time, however, you may be confused by how to add a new contact. The process is simpler than it may seem, especially if you know more about your contact than his name.

Instructions

  1. Adding a Skype User as a Contact

    • 1

Click on "Contacts" at the top of the Skype screen. This will open a drop-down menu of options.

    • 2

Click "Search for Skype Users" in the drop-down list. This will open a new window with a variety of options of ways to search for Skype users.

    • 3

Enter either the Skype name, the email address or the first and last (and optionally middle) names of the Skype user you want to add as a contact in the main text entry field in this window. If you are concerned that you may have too many results - for example, when you are searching for a common name - enter other relevant information such as "Country/Region," "State" or "Age range."

    • 4

Click "Find." This will bring up a list of all Skype users matching your search. Select the one you are looking for, then click the "Add contact" button near the bottom of this window. This will add your friend as a contact.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can view all of your contacts in the left side of the main Skype window.
