How to Troubleshoot a Peavey Tube 320T Amp
The Peavey Mace is a discontinued series of tube guitar amplifiers. The Peavey 320T is the combination version with the amp and speakers sold as a single unit. Gary Rossington, Steve Gaines and Allen Collins from Lynyrd Skynyrd were the most notable users of this amp. There are several issues that could potentially cause the amp not to function. Running through the most common issues is the quickest way to troubleshoot any difficulties.

1
Plug the guitar into the right-most input port on the amp. This is the "Normal" input. Plugging the guitar directly into this input simplifies the troubleshooting process. This eliminates issues from an effects chain as the cause of the issues.
-
2
Turn the volume dial on the guitar to the maximum setting.

-
3
Flip the power switch to either the left or right. Unlike most guitar amps, the Peavey Mace series uses the center position of the switch to turn the amp off. Either the left or right position may be used to turn the amp on.
-
4
Flip the switch to the right of the power switch. This is the standby switch. It turns off the output tubes of the amp, but leaves the rest of the power on. This switch might be the cause of the issue because it causes the amp to appear to be on, but it does not allow it to produce sound when engaged.

Turn the Pre Gain and Post Gain dials to at least 5. The Pre Gain dials function as the volume for each of the amp channels. The Post Gain dial functions as the master volume for the entire amp. Turning either of these dials too low silences the amp regardless of how high the other dial is set.

Tips & Warnings
The left and right positions on the power switch alter how power flows through the Peavey 320T slightly. Depending on your equipment and amp settings, one position or the other might produce less background hum.
