How to Convert a PDF to Word in Foxit

Foxit PDF reader is a full-featured program for reading PDF files. It is offered free by Foxit as an alternative to Adobe Reader. As well as allowing you to open, view, print and comment on PDF files, Foxit can also save text from a PDF as a Text (.txt) file. Once a PDF file has been converted to .txt format, it can easily be opened in Microsoft Word and saved as a regular Word document.
Download and install Foxit, if you have not already done so.
Open the PDF file you wish to convert by starting Foxit and selecting "Open" from the "File" menu. Use the dialog that opens to find and select your file.
Save the file as a .txt file. Open the "Save As" dialog from the "File" menu. Select ".txt" from the drop-down "File Type" box, and specify a location to save the file.
Launch Microsoft Word and open the .txt file you just saved using Foxit. Click "Open" from the "File" menu, then browse to the file and open it.
Save the file as a Word document by selecting the "Save" prompt from the "File" menu. Click on "Yes" if you see a prompt asking whether you want to save the file in the most current Word format available. The file can now be edited as a regular Word document.
Tips
It is impossible to save a scanned PDF file as text unless it is first converted by an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) program. This is usually included in your scanner software.
