Driving an unlicensed vehicle isn't usually a problem if the car stays on personal property. If that car needs to be moved over public roads, legal issues can arise for the vehicle owner. Most, if not all, states in the U.S. require that a car be licensed before it is driven on the road. The penalty for driving without a license plate varies by state, but it usually carries a fine. There is at least one relatively cheap way to solve this problem.
Contact a local moving company and rent a car trailer. The rental rate in 2010 was about $50 from large, national companies.
Hook up the trailer to your licensed vehicle following the rental instructions and load the unlicensed vehicle onto it.
