How to Prevent Acrobat From Creating Hyperlinks thumbnail
Hyperlink creation is automatic in a variety of programs.

Many programs, including Adobe Acrobat, automatically take a URL typed into a document and turn it into a hyperlink. This allows a user to click the link and open the web address. It is possible to modify the settings inside Adobe to disable the automatic conversion from happening.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader application.

    • 2

Click "Edit" in the menu bar along the top of the screen and scroll down to "Preferences."

    • 3

Choose the general category on the "Preferences" window that appears on the screen.

    • 4

Locate the "Basic Tools" section of the menu box on the right-hand side. Uncheck the box that says "Create links from URLs."
