How to Remove an Item from Outlook 2007 Quick Launch

Microsoft Outlook 2007 is an email, contact and task management application that is included with some versions of the Microsoft Office program suite. It offers you a multitude of customization options to ensure that Outlook is set up according to your preferences. This includes the configuration of the Quick Launch, or Quick Access, toolbar at the top of the screen. This toolbar can be used to quickly launch tasks that are used frequently, allowing for a simpler and more efficient application experience. You can also easily remove items from the toolbar.

      Click the "Start" or Windows button in the lower left corner of your screen. Then select "Programs" or "All Programs."

      Scroll to the "Microsoft Office" folder and click it. Then select "Microsoft Outlook 2007."

      Right-click in the Quick Access toolbar at the top of the screen, and choose the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" option.

      Select an item from the right-hand column, and then click the "Remove" button in the center of the screen. Repeat this process for each item you wish to remove, and then click the "OK" button to close the window.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you would like to customize your toolbar further by adding items to it, select a menu or tab from the Outlook ribbon at the top of the screen, right-click an item and then select the "Add to Quick Access Toolbar" option.

  • To move the location of the Quick Access toolbar, click the arrow on the right end of the toolbar, and select "Show Below the Ribbon" or "Show Above the Ribbon," depending on your personal preference.
