Computer audio connectors may need different speakers.

Microsoft PowerPoint is a software program that enables you to create presentations for personal and business reasons. It enables you to import text, pictures, films and audio files to articulate information to other people. But when the sound quality of audio tracks cannot be heard or the quality is poor, this will affect your presentation at large. Often your sound quality is lacking in PowerPoint because of the type of audio files you've used in the presentation.

Instructions

    • 1

Convert the desired audio file into .wav format using an audio file converter. Drag and drop the audio file into the software and then click the "Convert" button to convert it to .wav format.

    • 2

Click the Insert tab in PowerPoint. Click on the Media Clips group and then click "Sound." Click the "Sound from File" option and search for your newly created .wav file. Import the .wav file into the PowerPoint program.

    • 3

Run the PowerPoint slides. Compare the new .wav file with the old lower-quality sound recording. The sound quality should be better.

    • 4

Check the same files coming through different speakers. Connect your computer to a different set of speakers. Play the audio file in PowerPoint. If the audio sounds better through one speak set over another, use the speaker set that produces the best quality sound.

    • 5

Save the PowerPoint presentation on a CD or USB drive and transfer it to another computer. Open it in the other computer and see if the sound is better from the new computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • WAV files are larger files than files like MP3s. They are more complex and thus the quality is higher when put into PowerPoint.

  • WAV files are large, so it may take longer to upload into PowerPoint. If you import too many WAV files into PowerPoint, the program may not run smoothly.
