How to Plant a Tree in Memory of Someone
When a friend or loved one dies, it can be comforting to bring new life into the world as a memorial. The Arbor Day Foundation, a nonprofit group devoted to environmental conservation and education, offers a program through which grieving friends and relatives can arrange to have trees planted in memory of their loved one who has passed away. Go to the Arbor Day Foundation website, arborday.org.

Click on the link at the bottom right of the page that reads "Plant Trees In Memory Of Someone."

Click the green button the right side of the page that reads "Plant Trees In Memory."

Click on the "Order Now" link at the bottom of the page.

Select the amount that you would like to donate. Each dollar donated plants one tree in memory of the person who has died. There is a $10 minimum, but you may select "Custom" and enter any amount you wish above $10.

Indicate where you would like the memorial card sent. You can opt to have it mailed to you or sent to someone else. If you prefer, you can print out a certificate.

Fill out the mailing information for the memorial card if you choose to have one sent.

Click "Add to Cart."

Click "Checkout Now," and then "Express Checkout."

Enter your billing and payment information. The Arbor Day Foundation accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover.

Click "Proceed to Confirmation." The next screen will display the details of your memorial tree order and allow you to print a certificate if you selected that option.
