How to Sync Salesforce With Outlook Email

Offering a number of software solutions to small and large businesses, Salesforce.com specializes in assisting its clients with their Force.com business application manager, as well as connecting businesses with their "Chatter" collaboration application. Additionally, Salseforce.com offers a desktop software application called "Connect For Microsoft Outlook" which allows Salesforce.com's clients to synchronize their Outlook email with their Salesforce.com account. Installing and configuring the application is easy and can be done in less than a half hour.

      Go online to Salesforce.com and log in to your account.

      Select the "Setup" button at the top of the screen, select "Personal Setup" and click "Desktop Integration." Choose "Connect for Microsoft Outlook." Click "Click Here" to download Salesforce.com's "Connect for Microsoft Outlook Application" to your desktop. Double-click the EXE file after it has finished downloading. Follow the instructions provided by the installation wizard and finalize the program's installation by clicking "Finish."

      Open Microsoft Outlook, select "Tools" from the menu and click "Salesforce.com Options." Type your Salesforce.com user name and password into the corresponding text-fields and click "Verify."

      Go through each of the tabs (Contacts, Events and Tasks) and click the check boxes next to "Synchronize Data with Salesforce.com." Close out of the dialog window. Microsoft Outlook will now automatically synchronize with your Salesforce.com user account.
